let’s go…antiquing!
last year i (somewhat unknowingly) began an annual tradition to visit the aberfoyle antiques market in guelph. now, i can’t think of a more enjoyable way to spend a sunday. along with endless inspiration in the hat department, i’ve managed to collect many treasures that have been incorporated into many of my petit beret photoshoots and displays.
here are some of my favourite bits and bobs (hat related and otherwise) from opening day this season.

(merci: Things Organized Neatly)
it’s been raining a lot in toronto these days.
madame delaunay.
i’ve counted sonia delaunay as one of my long time inspirations (colour-wise, design-wise, everything-wise), but i’ve been particularly enamoured with her lately. here are a few nuggets for your viewing pleasure.

pop up: spring edition.

(my table at the drake pop up shop, featuring a selection of berets from the new vintage collection)
thanks to everyone who visited le petit beret at The Drake pop up shop last thursday. the event was a great success- hopefully it will be the first of many!
i was very pleased to officially debut the Vintage Collection. I’ve dabbled with vintage berets before (i have an vintage line available exclusively at Tabula Rasa)- but this will be a constantly rotating collection of limited edition berets created from my ever expanding inventory of vintage fabrics.

this photo was accidentally taken by my phone the other day while i was shopping at the fabric store. after a closer look i actually quite like it.
spring…seriously.
hey, spring.
i’m ready for you now.
in the meantime- here are some inspirational tidbits for the latest spring/summer collection. i’ve been thinking a lot of childhood hobbies, handicrafts and odd past times…more to come soon.

remember tearing off the edges of printer paper and making them into paper ladders? man, those were the days.

the very humble beginnings of my paper ladder inspired beret…which managed to combine itself with another childhood love of mine- neon everything.
le petit video.

(my ballet collection inspiration board)
i’m so glad that my dear friend randi (also known as the online editor of Fashion Magazine) convinced me to get over my stage fright- because this beauiful video is the result. plus i get to talk about my three of my favourite things- fashion, ballet and (of course) berets.
